The Adoption Centre of British Columbia

The Adoption Centre of British Columbia is a government-licensed, British Columbia adoption agency providing adoption services throughout British Columbia. We are part of a non-profit society, KCR Community Resources, in the Family and Adoption Services department. We are designated and approved as a competent authority under the Hague Convention on International Adoptions.

We are a wrap-around service, offering birth parents and prospective adoptive parents expertise, support, information and assistance through every step of their adoption journey. Our experienced and compassionate team of social workers will help you make informed decisions about your options. While our offices are located in Kelowna, we serve families throughout British Columbia.

We are a trusted organization that has been serving families since the beginning of the British Columbia adoption agency system in 1996. We specialise in a select number of programs that we deliver with expertise and confidence. This purposeful focus ensures we are viable as an agency, and wholly there for our families.

KCR Community Resources

KCR Community Resources is a multi-service agency fostering diversity, collaboration and resourcefulness to support community, family and individual needs. KCR Community Resources offers programs and projects in four overarching areas:

Family & Adoption Services
Providing person and family-centred, preventative supports and program referrals to individuals and families with young children to increase knowledge, skills and community connections. Facilitating the legal and emotional process for adoptive parents building their family through intercountry and domestic adoption, for birth parents who want to make adoption plans and children in need of permanent homes.

Community Services
Promoting community information, supporting volunteer management and hosting learning opportunities.

Employment Services
Helping unemployed and under-employed individuals identify career and educational goals, navigate job search and develop essential job skills. Collaborating with employers in the Central Okanagan to more easily recruit quality applicants.

Immigrant Services
Assisting Immigrants to Canada to feel welcome by providing information and connecting them to the community. Promoting the benefits of cultural diversity in our community by coordinating cultural awareness activities.
