DOMESTIC Program
This program is for birth parents and adoptive parents who are living in BC and want to pursue adoption. The program typically involves a newborn and, on rare occasion, a very young child. Birth parents will choose who to place their baby with from a pool of approved adoptive families.
INTERCOUNTRY Program
This program is for adoptive parents who are hoping to adopt a child from another country. Countries available, criteria for adoptive families, children available, process, costs etc. can change quickly so we always encourage families who are interested in pursuing intercountry adoption to talk to us about the options we may have available for them.
Our current countries include:
- Haiti
- South Africa
- India

DIRECT PLACEMENT
Direct Placement adoption is where an adoptive family and a birth parent have a pre-existing relationship. Our role in facilitating direct placement is limited based on the fact that adoptive parents and birth parents already know each other and are able to communicate and plan directly. SECTION 48 (Inter-Provincial)
Section 48 is when a child who is not a resident of BC is brought into the Province for adoption. This type of adoption is a bit more complex as there are two provinces involved who have different adoption processes and legal requirements. Please call us to discuss this type of adoption.
STEP-PARENT ADOPTION
If you are looking into step-parent adoption and your child is between the ages of 7 and 11, you will need a Views of the Child report. We can help you with this piece by contracting with one of our registered social workers to come out to interview your child to complete the needed report for your lawyer.
